My brain is frazzled beyond anything right now, I still have half of the Gettysburg Address to memorize for First Period American History tomorrow. But I needed to get this LOST theory out of my mind.

In The Man Behind The Curtain episode, we saw the outline of the guy we think is Jacob in the rocking chair. After seeing the pretty blonde Jacob, I've come to believe that maybe Jacob wasn't the one in the cabin. It could have been Esau/NotLocke/Flock/Black-Shirted-Man/Jacob's Enemy.

It could make sense. Esau was kept in the cabin by the ash circle. That was to prevent him from going to kill Jacob. The only time he could leave would be when he was in the form of Smokey or a dead person. Even in the form of those, he couldn't kill Jacob. (A bit like how Ben can't just go up and stab Widmore. Rules.) He would have to get someone to do it for him.

For Ben, Esau just had to wait until a right time to have a good dead person to manipulate. He went in a circle, starting with NotLocke, Ben, and Richard when he told Richard to give the real Locke the compass and tell him to die. That eventually happened, Ben got back to the Island and Esau/NotLocke was there waiting for him.

Random thought- a reason for Ben's spine cancer could be that Jacob saw this whole event coming and tried to kill Ben before Esau could set his plan into action. That's probably not true, since Jacob just dislikes Ben.
